Prelude for a Lord

4 Stars
From the first page I really liked the main character Clair.  This is a musical story about a violin of mysterious heritage surrounded by plenty of villains to keep you guessing.  Clair loves to play the violin, and so does Bayard, but a long ago meeting and a code in a strict society make their first encounter harsh.  Yet Clair and Bayard meet again and this time they are cloaked in a mystery that threatens them at almost every turn.  You will find an intriguing mystery dipping in and out of this entire story.   This book is full of great characters with strong personalities that hold true the entire story.  Not only is it a mystery but it tells a story of loyalty, friendship and the worst and best in family.
This fresh new story holds all the key elements to keep you turning page after page.  Throw in a group of interesting friends and a shocking past and you’ve a story you’ll want to read again.  Did I mention this is a great regency historical romance, clean and well written?  After reading lots of regency stories that rate 2 and 3 stars it was nice to find one worth reading.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
